L'ATELIER DES GRIOTS
Atelier des Griots is an international non-profit studio dedicated to the study and implementation of architecture, ecological design and planning with a focus on informal urbanism.
The primary mission of Atelier des Griots is to improve the quality of life in Benin through dedicated community planning, design and development. As an international living laboratory, Atelier des Griots uses citizen participation to empower local communities through the revitalization of public spaces, enabling them to fully realize their social, economic and cultural potential.
The ultimate goal is to prepare communities to professionally manage and maintain regenerated community spaces, reclaim Benin’s architectural identity, and enable communities to become self-sufficient.
Atelier des Griots is dedicated to the griot tradition in West Africa, telling the many beautiful and positive stories of the communities through architecture, urban planning, design, art and many other mediums.
